Wii are the world

December 11, 2006

Just taking a moment out of this busy holiday season to say that the Wii is truly my most favorite thing ever. Wii Sports alone has changed my family’s nightly routine; more often than not, the pre-bedtime hours are spent attempting to roll strikes and perfecting our golf swings while the dog watches us carefully and tries to decide whether or not to bark at us. We play boxing the least–trying to play the Wii with a sore shoulder the next day is a bitch.

I actually haven’t gotten too far into Zelda, but what I have played I’ve enjoyed. Honestly, though, I’m just so happy to have an epic action-adventure game to play that I’m incapable of being overly critical.

Trauma Center is both fun and insanely maddening, just the DS original I never beat. Super Monkey Ball is fun; this is the first “Monkey” title I’ve played, and it could be my lack of evolved balancing skill, but I actually find the main game challenging. I’m slowly going through all of the minigames, still. Currently, I’m fond of Hammer Throw.

Later this week, two more titles I’m curious about are released–Elebits and Super Swing Golf. Not sure when I’ll get to play them, but I find Elebits intriguing and Super Swing Golf, well, a golf game.

Hopefully Christmas will bring Wii points so I can check out the VC options too. For now, it’s off to lunch I go.
